Child Psychology
Professor: What are the historical roots of the study of child development?
Me: The interest in child development predates the official field of psychology itself; however, because only the sciences developed in Western civilization was deemed the most important by Westerners themselves, thus non-Western records of child development are erased and/or ignored. As a result, no one really knows what the historical roots are, because only one set of records have been deemed worthy enough to be preserved and presented as fact.
