And this white woman is saying that Hipster is a word that once had a meaning but doesn’t have one anymore beyond a style. She said the old meaning wasn’t important anyway.
The topic is the devaluation of language and fashion.
A Hipster is what black people called white people that began to appear in Jazz Clubs back in the day and mimic the style of dress etc. I.E appropriate.
But while talking about cultural appropriation in outside of america she finds that it’s taboo.
